James Williams

James Williams serves as General Manager of Edelman’s Los Angeles office. In this role James oversees the direction of the office that includes practices in Digital, Entertainment and Technology; Consumer Marketing; Corporate; Healthcare and Digital.  The diverse client base in Los Angeles includes many best-in-class brands, including: Chevron, Microsoft Xbox, Experian, Genentech, Viking River Cruises, Mattel, Qualcomm, Nestle and Volkswagen, among others. He serves as the chair of the Communications and Marketing Committee at Point.

His work has been recognized by the public relations industry, receiving two PRSA Silver Anvil awards, two PRSA Silver Anvil Awards of Excellence and many SABRE and CIPRA awards.

Prior to joining Edelman, James served as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Planning at Ogilvy Public Relations in Los Angeles, as well as Managing Director.

In addition to Point Foundation, James is a member of the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, James earned a BA in journalism. He also serves as a guest lecturer in public relations at USC and UCLA, as well as industry seminars.


Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
