Anna McCrerey
Point Scholar: 2006-2007
Johns Hopkins University, Bloomberg School of Public Health
Masters of Public Health
Building off her graduate work with Genderqueer Youth and Transgender HIV issues, Anna maintains professional ties at Johns Hopkins, regularly lecturing in the "Advanced Topics of HIV" course. Arguing for a radical shift in public health paradigms for gender nonconforming populations, she challenges students to think critically about research design, methodology and intervention strategies for highly marginalized populations.
Continuing her dual focus with HIV work both domestically and internationally, Anna spent a year as Program Specialist with Catholic Relief Services' AIDS Relief Project, an HIV Care and Treatment Grant, spanning nine countries in Africa and Latin America. She provided technical assistance and programmatic support on the global management team, traveling to the field frequently. Currently, Anna serves as CRS' Health Program Manager for its Sudan Program, where she now lives. |
