Mark Braun

Mark Braun, Vice President, is the National Practice Liaison for the LGBT and Non-Traditional Family Practice. He joined Northern Trust in 1983 in their management training program where he worked through many areas of the bank including teller services, bookkeeping/accounting, commercial lending, mortgage lending and private banking.

For approximately 12 years at Northern Trust his main focus and responsibility was the development of new mortgage loan origination business. He worked closely with the realtor community to build a network of broker/realtor professionals.

In 1997, Mark became a Private Banker at Northern Trust providing all types of depository, brokerage, and lending services. In 2007 Mark joined one of the Wealth Advisory teams in Chicago and provided all aspects of private banking to that team, which focuses on the financial requirements of successful families and individuals.

In 2010, Mark became the National Practice Liaison for the LGBT and Non-Traditional Family Practice. Mark focuses on business development within the LGBT community. He works closely with Northern Trust partners across the country to ensure the LGBT community is being served in each market place. Mark is also very active with local and national LGBT not for profit organizations.

Mark is also very involved with building a network of outside centers of influence that include attorneys, business owners, realtors and individuals, who are associated with not for profit organizations.

Mark holds his B.S. in Business Management from the business school at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Mark has affiliations with Lambda Legal, AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Point Foundation, Howard Brown, Equality Illinois, Juvenile Diabetes Association, Realtor Association of Chicago and the East Bank Club. Mark is also on the board of directors of Sit Stay Read, a local literacy organization that assists inner city children with learning using dogs in a classroom setting.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
