Kyle is the Senior Vice President of Internal Audit at Leidos - a national security, health and engineering solutions company.

Joanne A. Herman, Treasurer

Boston, Massachusetts

Joanne retired in 2010 as Financial Controller for Boston-based grant-maker New England Foundation for the Arts, where she was responsible for NEFA’s accounting, financial reporting, benefits administration, and information technology. She was previously Director of Finance for what is now the French Cultural Center of Boston. 

Kevin Chase, Vice Chair

Los Angeles, California

Since 2007, Kevin Chase has been a Partner at McCormack & Associates, the country’s oldest and largest LGBT-owned executive search practice and a national leader in Diversity & Inclusion recruiting at the executive and Board level.  Immediately prior to McCormack & Associates, Kevin was the Managing Director of Mahler Private staffing, a provider of specialized recruiting services for the family offices and private estates of ultra high net worth individuals and families.

Bruce C. Lindstrom, Co-Founder 

Lake Tahoe, Nevada

Bruce's entrepreneurial career has included his management involvement in the earliest stages of three major companies - all dealing with retail and distribution. Bruce was part of the founding group of The Price Company (having merged with Costco), Pace Membership Warehouse (acquired by Wal-Mart as part of Sam’s Club) and finally as President of Corporate Express (most recently acquired by Staples).

John G. Pence, Founding Director

San Francisco, California

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Educated in the public schools of Fort Wayne and South Bend, Indiana. A. B. in Political Science and Economics from Wabash College, Crawfordsville, Indiana in 1958. Commissioned Naval Officer (Ensign through Lieutenant commander) from 1958 - 1967.

Kelli Smith-Bailey, Member at Large

Seattle, Washington

As a career educator, Kelli knows firsthand the importance of education and mentorship. Kelli has served students both in the classroom and as an administrator over her 20 year career both in California and in New York. Kelli was the Director for Admissions for Mt Sinai Medical School in New York City where she managed a staff that was responsible for the restructuring of the medical admissions process and review of over 6,000 applications annually

Carl T. Strickland, Co-Founder

Lake Tahoe, Nevada

Carl managed and operated the start-up of two surgical practices in San Francisco before becoming Director of Information Systems for the international legal consulting firm Major, Lindsey & Africa (formerly Major, Hagen & Africa), while simultaneously completing his degree in International Business from The University of San Francisco. 

Jorge Valencia, Executive Director & CEO

Los Angeles, California

Jorge Valencia began his tenure as the Point Foundation’s Executive Director in January 2007. He brings to Point a wealth of experience in managing and growing nonprofit organizations, a proven ability to design and manage the infrastructure of expanding organizations and extensive experience with, and sensitivity to, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth issues.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
