Brett Janecek

Point Scholar  2005 – 2008

Brett Janecek is a Point Foundation Alumnus and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at HBO. Born and raised in Montana, Brett attended the University of Notre Dame where he studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics and graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Theatre History and Cultural Criticism. He was awarded an Iowa Arts Fellowship and earned his MFA in Theatre (Dramaturgy) from the University of Iowa Playwrights Workshop. Prior to joining HBO, Brett worked as a new play development and arts administration consultant with clients that included the Book of Mormon on Broadway, Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival, National Playwrights Conference, Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville, and American Musical Theater Project. Currently Brett volunteers with AIDS Project Los Angeles and is training for the Malibu Triathlon.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
