Alyn Libman

Point Scholar – 2003-2008

Alyn is Point Foundation's first female-to-male transgender Point Scholar. Growing up in Los Angeles as a gender non-conforming child, Alyn was harassed, stigmatized and ostracized by peers and teachers. Alyn was a California State Student Organizer for the Day of Silence Project, testified in front of the California State Senate regarding youth and trans issues, and has presented workshops on transgender lives to more than 700 youth at the Models of Pride Conference. The only freshman accepted into UC Berkeley’s Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, Alyn plans on becoming a civil rights attorney and eventually working for the ACLU or Lambda Legal.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
