Jonathan Metrick
Point Scholar 2008 – 2009
Jonathan was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and came out to his supportive friends and family while completing his undergraduate degree in Commerce at Queen’s University. Troubled by how few of his gay friends had similar coming out experiences, after graduation Jonathan began working in LGBT related activities hoping to make the coming out process easier for others. Within six months of getting a job at P&G, Jonathan took on the leadership position of the LGBT employee network and became the youngest member participating on the Diversity Leadership Team. During his time with the company, Jonathan led efforts to secure corporate sponsorship of Gay Pride events and launched the company’s first LGBT recruiting efforts in Canada.
Jonathan became a Point scholar while completing his MBA at Harvard Business School. At HBS Jonathan was an active member of the LGBT Student Association and worked closely with the school administration to increase LGBT student applications. Graduating with distinction in 2009, Jonathan continued exploring his passion for marketing creating branded entertainment with artists including Rihanna and Jay-Z at Live Nation Entertainment and later running global marketing at Hult International Business School in London. Jonathan recently moved back to New York to start his own company called The Agility Project which offers agile marketing solutions for companies and organizations around the world.
