Scott McKee

Point Scholar 2006 – 2010

Scott attended the Georgia Institute of Technology majoring in chemical and biomolecular engineering. Scott dedicated himself to LGBTQ advocacy while attending Georgia Institute of Technology, wanting to assist others with their struggles related to an LGBTQ lifestyle and to promote equality for all people. After presiding as President of Pride Alliance, a social and advocacy student organization, for two years, Scott also contributed as the Student Advisor to the organization. He also served as the Student Coordinator for Safe Space, a training program to encourage a supportive environment for LGBTQ members of the campus. In addition to being recognized as a leader on campus, he was on the Dean’s List or Faculty Honors every semester.

Scott is currently working for the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Department of Energy as a General Engineer and was selected to serve on the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling (Presidential Oil Spill Commission).
