David Seitz

Point Scholar 2008 – 2010

David recently graduated from Macalester College where he graduated summa cum laude with a major in Political Science with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and French and Francophone Studies. With an interest in anti-racist, feminist and queer approaches to journalism, coalition politics, spirituality and geography, David worked closely with the anti-gentrification and transit justice organizers in the Minnesota community, writing his senior thesis challenging the race and class politics of local public transit planning. David is interested in understanding how queer politics can become a point of departure for broad, transformative political alliances and coalitions. Continuing research on the race, class, gender and sexuality politics of urban development and gentrification, David is pursuing an MA in Geography and Women and Gender Studies at the University of Toronto.
