Kyle Rapiñan

Point Scholar 2009 – 2012

Kyle Rapiñan is multi-racial law student attending Northeastern University. He is a fierce community activist for human rights, youth advocacy, and rethinking allyship as an action instead of an identity. Kyle is best known in the queer community for designing and shepherding a new constituency based on a queer youth arts venue, Queer Youth Space. He has a strong demonstrated commitment to ending economic violence, inequity, and youth homelessness. As a previous board member of Queer Youth Space, co-chair of the international Safe Schools Coalition, City of Seattle LGBT Commissioner, UW Q Center, and a trainer for NW Network, Kyle turned his story of couch surfing into one of leadership and beauty.

Point offers mentorship, leadership development and community service training to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) students.
