Point Scholar Ashley Burnside says:

While I was applying to the Point Foundation, I had a variety of people proofread my essays and responses for the application. My mom and older sister especially read a lot of my drafts. I also had some teachers provide their input.

During the finalist round of the application, you are asked to develop a speech to present during your in-person interview. I definitely recommend practicing this speech on everyone in your life. Practice presenting your speech with your friends, roommates, classmates, family, teachers, mentors, etc.

Having a fresh set of eyes read your responses and essays, and a fresh set of ears listen to your speech, could be a great help in preparing your application. Ask a teacher, TA, or counselor -- someone who you are out to and trust.

Point Foundation invites students to submit questions online about applying for scholarships which are answered by Point Scholars. Visit our application page for more information about Point Foundation's Scholarship.
