At Point Foundation, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to shape the future. Their unique interests, skills, and perspectives can create rewarding careers and welcoming communities. We're thrilled to announce a new initiative: the CenterLink Point Scholarship.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics lists the following as three of the fastest growing careers over the next decade:
These careers, and many more, do not require a college degree, but do require training and, often, certification. The CenterLink Point Scholarships will help students pursue programs at community colleges, trade and technical schools, adult education centers, and even programs housed at LGBTQ+ centers. As with all Point Scholarships, CenterLink Point Scholars will be able to use their funding to cover costs like tuition, books, tools, and fees.
CenterLink is the perfect partner for this new initiative. CenterLink is the world's largest LGBTQ+ community-based association. CenterLink represents more than 350 local LGBTQ+ community centers and organizations across the country. These centers will award CenterLink Point Scholarships to students in their local communities. These LGBTQ+ community centers understand the unique barriers local LGBTQ+ and ally students face. Many of thse centers are already working to connect people with career counseling and job-readiness training. Together, we're ensuring access to education, visible LGBTQ+ and ally leadership, and welcoming communities for students nationwide.
