Expanding Leadership at Point Foundation

Written by Point Foundation | November 05, 2026

Point Foundation is proud to announce three new members on our Board of Directors!

  • Kate Alloy is a Human Resources leader with 15 years of experience. She lives in Newbury, MA. Kate volunteers with the #IAmRemarkable Movement, empowering people to celebrate their career wins. Kate is a graduate of Columbia University and represents one of the most popular universities for Point Scholars in recent years.
  • Bill Bennett has worked in higher education advancement for over 39 years. He received a BA from UMass Amherst and a Master of Public Administration from Clark University in Worcester, MA. Bill and his husband live in Waltham, MA. Massachusetts is a popular state for Point Scholars to pursue their degrees and is also home to many Point alumni building their careers.
  • Ramon Marquez is the Head of Retail at Transformco. He leads the end-to-end retail process for stores including Kmart and Sears. Ramon lives in Houston, TX. He completed a BBA in Marketing at the University of Texas – El Paso and an MBA at Rice University.

Kate, Bill, and Ramon are leaders in their careers and their communities. We're thrilled to have them part of our leadership team at Point!

Kate shared, "Having recently transitioned into community-based work in Plum Island and Newbury, I am more committed than ever to ensuring that the next generation of LGBTQ+ and ally leaders has the resources, professional confidence, and community backing they need to thrive in any environment they choose to enter."

We look forward to Kate's perspective as we continue to expand our leadership and career development workshops. "As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am deeply passionate about Point Foundation’s mission to remove systemic barriers through both financial support and intentional mentorship."

When she's not serving as a Gold Tier Facilitator for the #IAmRemarkable Movement, Kate is a volunteer with the First Parish of Newbury Food Pantry and involved with the Camp Bernadette Alumnae Association.

"[T]alent and potential are everywhere, but opportunity is not."

- Bill Bennett

For Bill, Point's mission is deeply personal. As a first-generation college student, Bill "understand[s] firsthand how transformative access to higher education can be. Education did far more than provide me with a degree — it opened doors I could not have imagined..."

Bill is the Assistant Vice President for Academic Advancement at Brandeis University. As someone working in postsecondary education, he understands the power of a Point Scholarship.

Bill lives with his husband of 31 years and their Chocolate English Labrador Retriever Niko. "As a gay man, I also understand the importance of finding a community where you feel supported, valued, and able to be authentically yourself. For LGBTQ+ and ally students, that sense of belonging—combined with access to education, financial resources, mentorship, and encouragement—can be extraordinarily powerful"

When asked why he wanted to join Point's Board of Directors, Ramon Marquez shared, "I’m passionate about supporting organizations that invest in people, build confidence, and create long-term opportunity."

Ramon moved home to Texas in 2021 to be closer to his loved ones. He lives with his three-year-old rescue dog, Charlie. After moving home, Ramon became a guest lecturer at Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business. Business is the number one major for Point Scholars this semester.

Ramon has experience in professional development and a deep love for education. "Education changed the trajectory of my life, and I believe Point Foundation plays a critical role in opening doors for LGBTQ+ students to reach their full potential." We're happy to have Ramon on our team to explore new ways for Point to open doors to opportunity and expand access to education and career development for Point Scholars.

Kate, Bill, and Ramon will bring new ideas and insight to Point's leadership team. Their expertise, experience, and insight will be instrumental in planning the next 25 years of Point Foundation. If you're interested in learning more about Point's leadership, please check out our Boards page.
