Which program are you pursuing and what about the subject intrigues you most?

I am pursuing a nursing program in order to get my bachelor of science in nursing. This subject is intriguing to me because I love helping others and I want to be able to create change within the medical field by making it more inclusive and accepting for all members of the LGBTQ+ community.

What are your education and career aspirations?

My dream is to one day become a Nurse Practitioner and work in a non-profit clinic. I love giving back to my community and I am a strong believer that everyone should have access to resources that contribute to a healthy mind and body.

What is a fun fact about you that few people know?

I love plants and gardening. They calm me and make me feel alive.

What is your favorite book/movie/song and why?

Right now, I'm obsessed with "Save Your Tears" by the Weeknd. I love this song because I love the emotion behind it and the beat.

What is your current favorite streaming binge and why?

My current favorite streaming binge is Ginny and Georgia because I know what it's like to run from the past and to crave stability or normality.

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy cooking, hiking, painting, gardening, and hanging out with my partner and our dog.

How are you practicing self-care during this difficult time?

I try to ground myself and focus on the things that I can control.

How are you adjusting to remote life and what are your tips to stay motivated?

I'm adjusting fairly well, for the most part. I try to stay organized and I keep a detailed calendar of things to get done each day. I stay motivated by planning activities to do on the weekends at least a week in advance so that I have something to work for and look forward to. My favorite activity during the pandemic has been what my partner and I call "car picnics." We get take out at a local restaurant, then we drive to the coast or a nice look out spot, and eat together in the trunk of our hatchback car.

As a Point Community College Scholarship Recipient, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?

Anything that you want to accomplish in life, you can do it. You are worthy and you are always enough. <3
