Meet Point Scholar Onyx Ewa

Written by Andrae Vigil-Romero | January 21, 2021

What college/university are you attending and what made you choose it?

Harvard University. I chose this institution because of its large alumni network and because of the resources devoted to individual projects and learning inside and outside of the classroom.

What is a fun fact about you that few people know?

I was on two episodes of Sesame Street!

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?

I enjoy designing and making clothes.

How are you practicing self-care during this difficult time?

I've been taking more breaks through the day, which has been helpful for minimizing burnout.

How are you adjusting to remote life and what are your tips to stay motivated?

Adjusting to remote life has definitely been difficult. Something that's helped me is just remembering that things aren't normal right now, and that's okay. It's okay to do the bare minimum or to be unproductive sometimes; the most important thing is just to get from one day to the next.

As a Point Scholar, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?

Your identities and experiences are so, incredibly valid, regardless of whether they fit with other people's conceptions.
