Which program are you pursuing and what about the subject intrigues you most?

Master of Social Work. I've been advocating for youth and young adults for nearly 15 years. I am very committed to improving outcomes for youth in systems of care, particularly LGBTQ+ youth.

What are your career aspirations?

After school, I plan to obtain my social work license. After that, I hope to become a social work professor or pursue a career in macro social work.

What is a fun fact about you that few people know?

I can say "hello" in 7 languages.

What is your favorite book/movie/song and why?

My favorite movie is 1939's The Women starring Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, and Norma Shearer. I love this movie because it exclusively features women and is directed by George Cukor, an early queer filmmaker.

What is your current favorite streaming binge?

The Golden Girls

In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?

Sleeping/Napping

How are you adjusting to remote life and what are your tips to stay motivated?

It's important to have time outside. This is a good way to get my Vitamin D and helps to energize me when I need to get things done.

As a Point Scholar, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?

What I know is that year is going to bring challenges. Can't beat around the bush about that, at all. While I don't know what those challenges will be, make sure to identify your tribe. This might be chosen family or biological family. It's important to stay connected to your tribe.
