Point Alumna Cris Beam has published her fourth book entitled "To the End of June: The Intimate Life of American Foster Care."  The book is receiving superb reviews as a well-researched and rigorous examination of our nation’s foster care system.  As a former foster parent, Cris spent five years working on the book and her compassion for everyone involved – foster children, parents, social workers, etc. – is clearly shown on each page.

Beam presents both a sharp critique of foster-care policies and a searching exploration of the meaning of family.”—Publishers Weekly, starred review

Check out her website for upcoming readings and interviews that are scheduled to take place in New York and Los Angeles over the next few months.  When Cris let Point know about the book, she said, “Please, if you like the book, or like me, or like the idea of change in child welfare, then blog, tweet, talk, shout and sing about this book! Big love and gratitude and I hope to see all of you in the coming weeks…”
