Alejandra Soria is originally from Ecuador and is a sophomore in the University of Pennsylvania Huntsman Program studying finance and operations management at Wharton, as well as Portuguese & Hispanic studies. On campus, she is the vice president of finance for Natives at Penn, the vice president of professional events for Wharton GUIDE, and a project leader for WUFFA. In the past, Alejandra has had the opportunity to combine these interests by working with women-led startups in underrepresented communities in her country by providing them with financial tools to support their growth and inclusion in the Ecuadorian financial system, which led to a 60% increase in their monthly revenues. She has also worked in management accounting, consulting, and commercial real estate. She was recently nominated as a 2022 youth ambassador representing Ecuador to participate in the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society in Paris, France. Only a hundred youth leaders are invited to attend every year. Finally, a fun fact about Alejandra is that she knows how to speak five different languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Quechua, an indigenous language from her country, and Italian.
