Andrea Noyes is a wife and a mother of four from Southeastern Utah. She and her wife are the only lesbian parents in their community. Andrea came out at the age of 17 when it was not socially acceptable to do so, and because of that, she faced many challenges along the way. Andrea has made it her life’s work to advocate for and create safe spaces for LGBTQ and at-risk youth. She hopes to provide safe spaces to encourage the mental and physical well-being of youth belonging to the LGBTQ community in order for them to feel supported so that they may grow into the best, most successful versions of themselves. Andrea spends most of her free time giving back to the youth of the community through the sport of basketball. She is currently serving as the head coach for her local high school team. She also enjoys traveling and spending her free time with her family. She has recently decided to go back to school to earn her degree in social work so that she may be an example of success in a marginalized community. She hopes to earn her bachelor’s degree in social work and psychology and then continue her education and earn her masters at USU with the goal of one day becoming a LGBTQ affirming therapist.
