Ash López is a proud queer Latina, social good programmer, and hacker. She was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in the rural desert town of Lancaster, CA. In the High Desert, she excelled as a passionate leader as an OUTreach Center board member, the only LGBTQ+ serving nonprofit in the Antelope Valley area. She then collaborated with Q Youth Foundation as a board member and is now serving on the L Project LA’s board. Ash loves making the world a braver + kinder place with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation as a Channel Kindness Alumni. Currently, Ash is attending Santa Monica College while serving as the founder of the online platform, Queer Trans.Events. She also hacks with Humanistic Technologies, a compassionate organization focused on building life-saving tech, whenever she has the chance. Aside from being a sweet geek, you can find Ash spending time with her supportive family or listening to her favorite music. As a Point Scholar, Ash is looking forward to transferring into a Computational Neuroscience major with the hopes of becoming an Artificial Intelligence Engineer and an Ethical AI advocate.
