Mae Nicholes Memorial Point Scholarship
Ash Tebar was born and raised in the South Bronx. He wants to become a Recreational Therapist so he can better support the needs of the LGBTQIA+ Community. Being a transgender, pansexual, Latinx man with a learning disability, he is no stranger to struggle. However, he uses his lived experience to be the representation he feels is lacking in the world. With a brave face and forever moving forward, Ash wants to help people who have disabilities, ranging from cognitive, to physical, mental, and emotional. He plans on putting a fun and interesting spin on therapy by using art and animal-assisted therapy. He hopes that this will be a much need respite for the LGBTQIA+ community and that he can provide of space of healing.
