Carlos Castilla is currently a sophomore at Columbia University majoring in creative writing and concentrating in sociology. On campus, he's currently on the board of the Multicultural Affairs Queer and Trans Advisory Board, a member of Proud Colors (QTPOC), has published an article on LGBTQIA+ history month for the Columbia Spectator, a mentor for two freshmen in the Academic Success Program, a sophomore class representative for ASP, and on the ASP Advisory Board. He booked his first editorial internship with TheSocialTalks during the summer and started working with them in September. So far, Carlos has two articles published and has edited eight articles since his time in the internship. He's also working two jobs this semester, one with Hartley Hospitality where he actively improves the living experience for the undergraduate community on campus, and one at Avery Library. On top of all of this, Carlos is taking five classes this semester. He works hard so that he can make himself and those he holds close to his heart proud. At the end of his college career, Carlos plans on taking the lessons learned from all of these experiences and getting his dream job, and supporting his family.
