Meet Our Scholars

Christina Scott is an Afro-Latina first generation college student attending Hillsborough Community College (HCC) as of Fall 2021. They were raised by in a very religious catholic family in Puerto Rico. Upon moving out of the colony to Florida and getting away from her family, she was able to accept her bisexuality. Through their art they were able express the struggles of coming upon this realization, making art a very important practice in their life.

Their major at this time is Marine Biology. Christina is part of the Honors Program at HCC and she hopes to transfer to a four-year university and remain in the honors program. She aims to graduate with her masters in Marine Biology and become an aquarist, as well as a part of the conservation about coral reefs.
