Davonte' Biggers is a higher education scholar, researcher, and professional with over five years of experience in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, faculty affairs, student affairs, and business operations. He is currently a student and research assistant in the doctoral higher education program at the University of Georgia Institute of Higher Education. Biggers' research interests include social justice in higher education; diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within collegiate settings; and the experiences of post-secondary populations at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities. Aside from his professional and academic involvements, he also volunteers in serving and supporting marginalized and underserved communities including racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
Biggers received his Master of Professional Studies in Higher Education Administration from Georgetown University's School of Continuing Studies in May of 2022. His capstone focused on diversifying faculty ranks at predominantly white colleges and universities. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina. Upon completion of the higher education Ph.D. program at the University of Georgia, he plans to continue his work supporting marginalized populations in higher education as a tenure-track faculty member and scholar.
