Elijah Durst was born and raised in a small town in Northern California. Growing up in a religous family, Elijah did not feel comfortable living his true self. After finishing high school, he moved around the United States until he found a home and community in Portland, Oregon where he felt accepted and comfortable being gay. Elijah felt such a strong connection to the LGBTQ community that it became his mission to help others within the community. This lead him to work with Cascade Aids Project, a nonprofit with a mission is to promote the well-being and advance equity by providing inclusive health and wellness services for LGBTQ people, people affected by HIV, and all those seeking compassionate care. Elijah seeks to become a registered nurse and utilize his compassion and knowledge to make a greater impact on those in the community.
