Gabriel Anker earned a Master of Music in Violin Performance from the Thornton School at USC in spring 2020. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music with Distinction in Research and Creative Works in 2018 from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University. Born in San Juan, Gabriel grew up in Houston where he attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. He has been involved with social justice advocacy for queer and other marginalized groups. Gabriel was a Wells Fargo Point Scholar from 2015-2018. As an undergraduate, he co organized a Queer Arts Series, and he co led Seders in collaboration with the Rice Queer Resource Center and Houston Hillel. As a graduate student, Gabriel has been a guest artist with Street Symphony, which “engages communities directly affected by homelessness and incarceration in LA County through performances, workshops and teaching artistry.” Visit his website at: https://www.gabrielanker.space/
