Isaiah Baiseri was born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Born via assisted reproductive technologies to a very unorthodox yet extremely loving Latino family, Isaiah was taught to continually question the world around him.

Isaiah’s experience as an activist in the LGBTQ community began his sophomore year of high school upon reading a Facebook message inviting him to join Queer Youth Advocacy Day – an event produced by the Gay-Straight Alliance Network. On a whim, he found himself on a bus headed to the California state capitol for a day full of lobbying in favor of various bills that would affect students in California public schools. Following his experience, he was inspired to start his school’s Gay-Straight Alliance club. Continuing his work with GSA Network, he was selected as a core trainer in Southern California and joined the organization’s Statewide Advocacy Council and Board of Directors.

In addition to his activism, Isaiah was a member of his high school’s varsity track team, a violinist in his high school’s orchestra, and a volunteer at a local hospital. However, Isaiah has always been passionate about multimedia arts. He served as his high school’s Commissioner of Artistic Design and works part-time as a freelance graphic designer. As a Design | Media Arts major at UCLA, Isaiah created media that is both compelling and innovative in furthering the fight for LGBTQ equality.
