James attended Harvard College where he received a B.A. in sociology with a secondary field in romance languages and literatures, language citation in Japanese. In addition to his academic career, while on campus James remained active in the LGBTQ community by serving on the executive board of the Harvard Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, and Supporters Alliance, and as a Public Affairs & Education Intern at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders in Boston.
Currently working as a Business Analyst at Sears Holding Corporation in Chicago, James is responsible for driving online sales to the new international websites for Sears and Kmart stores, including the newly-launched Sears Puerto Rico online marketplace and other initiatives. He also looks forward to volunteer opportunities through the LGBT Center on Halsted, and studying French at l'Alliance Franaise in Chicago. His goal is to combine his career aspirations with a strong commitment to service work in the LGBTQ communities, drawing on the overlap of how skill sets from both areas can aid each other.
