Jesse Cruz is a first-generation college student currently studying political science at the College of Southern Nevada. Throughout his life, Jesse faced many barriers when it came to having a disability, being told what he could and could not do as a result of simply being born unlucky. Through these barriers, Jesse has been fortunate enough to learn how to help those in his community despite his limitations. This help was in the form of lobbying and using his voice to advocate for those in his communities that couldn’t themselves. It was through advocacy and being a part of the legislative processes that Jesse was able to find a passion in lawmaking and public policy, which became a medium in which he knew he could help those in his community the best.
