John Nguyen is an Academic Excellence Scholar studying computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas. As a Green Fellow alumnus, John’s software development and research career has spanned PNC Bank, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Rice University. Active in the LGBTQ community, John was a sponsored attendee for the Out 4 Undergrad Tech Conference and oSTEM Conference. He was a mentee for the Out in Tech mentorship program and the featured concerto soloist for the Rose City Pride Band’s Resist II Concert. Previously, John volunteered as a counselor for the Trevor Project. John enjoys playing the flute competitively, having most notably won the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition and National Flute Association Masterclass Performers Competition.
