Meet Our Scholars

Johnanna graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in women's studies and art history from Hamline University in the Twin Cities in May 2009. While in school Johnanna was actively involved in her campus community-- participating in plays and the track team, being a first year student orientation leader, and a Resident Advisor who was promoted to an Assistant Hall Director. In addition to all of her activities, she worked part-time and maintained an A- average. She strived to be a queer role model to her peers during her time at Hamline. She is currently pursuing further education in a Master of Arts program in gender studies at the University of Northern Iowa and has presented her research on the narrow representation of motherhood in popular culture at several national and local conferences and is working on articles from publication in an anthology and academic journals.
