Layla Kimbles

Riverside City College

Psychology

She/Her/Hers

BIPOC

Layla was born to a single mother in Downey, California in 1996. She and siblings were placed in and out of foster care growing up and never had any stability. Because of this experience, Layla made it a goal to provide her siblings with love, stability, and make sure they stay on track with their education. Because of the constant moving and responsibilities she was given at a young age, Layla didn’t get to graduate high school, but she never gave up hope on her education.

At 19 she enrolled herself in Valley Adult High School in Lake Elsinore School, California. After approximately two and a half years of dedicated hard work, she received her high school diploma. Two months before she received her diploma, she registered for City College and immediately signed up for Psych 1, at Riverside City College, in Riverside, California. She is now about to complete her fourth semester at RCC working towards her Associates in Psychology with a GPA of 3.1.

After some time at RCC, she joined Alpha Gamma Sigma, which is the honor society of the California Community Colleges system and was just voted to the board as the Event Coordinator. She is a Certified Crisis Counselor and multidisciplinary athlete.
