Mary Wesley is a Hashimoto’s warrior and Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections mom. Mary is a Licensed Independent Social Worker in Ohio and a Licensed Master’s Social Worker in Michigan who has been working in mental health since 2013. Mary is a member of the LGBTQ community and is raising a trans youth as well, which is a reason why she is passionate about-, and specializes in working with LGBTQ youth and adults.
Mary’s work has led her to work toward a degree in nursing with the goal of obtaining her certified nurse practitioner license so she may better serve her community by providing fully integrated, affirming whole body care to clients. She aims to eliminate service gaps for clients, especially trans individuals, in obtaining quality care and necessary gender-affirming services.
Mary is an active member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ Equality, and the National Association of Social Workers. Mary is one of only a handful of providers in Ohio and Michigan currently registered with the Gender Affirming Letter Access Project. Mary currently serves locally on the Promedica LGBTQ PFAC advisory board. Overall, she is a colorful and outgoing personality. Mary thinks outside the box and is far from traditional in most senses. Despite barriers in her life, Mary is determined to overcome and succeed at helping better her community and eliminate the barriers many face.
