Mohamad was born in Damascus, Syria into a family of one brother and four sisters. He became aware of his sexual orientation around the age of twelve. He and his family moved to Lebanon, Egypt and Saudi Arabia before he left them and moved alone to the United States. He was bullied in high school for being gay and faced the threat of death in Saudi Arabia under the law for being gay. When he arrived in the United States, he spoke no English and quickly had to learn enough words to enroll in English listening, speaking, writing, grammar and reading classes at Richland College. Mohamad is now taking upper level math classes at Richland College with a current 4.0 G.P.A. in his pursuit of a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas.
