Meet Our Scholars

Monica Escobar was a Point Scholar from 2005 until 2007, while attending Georgetown University. She graduated with a double major in English and linguistics. Currently, Monica is a 9th grade English teacher at Anacostia Senior High School in Washington, DC. She is also working towards her Masters in education. In the near future, she hopes to return to school full-time as a PhD candidate in American studies. In the slightly more distant future, Monica hopes to start her own amazing urban school that will provide students with a rigorous and free education unlike any Washington, DC has ever seen before.
