Oraia Reid is social entrepreneur with a decade of experience committed to empowering communities on behalf of LGBTQ, socio/political justice, and women’s rights issues with a focus on ending sexual assault. Serving as the Executive Director of RightRides for Women’s Safety, Oraia has been instrumental in launching the organization from vision to operations and significant growth, through the experiential lens of a low-income, queer-identified survivor of assault. Through direct services, community organizing and advocacy efforts, RightRides for Women’s Safety has become an award-winning, nationally recognized leader in fostering grassroots responses to address gender-based violence. Oraia was born in California, but has lived and traveled extensively across the world. She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York and is attending the City University of New York - Baruch College, pursuing studies in sociology, international relations and entrepreneurship.
