Sarah Smeltzer is a first-generation, queer, full-time education student living in Orange County, California. On-campus, she assists students and faculty as a student worker and representative for the Extended Operations, Programs, and Services department is a Public Relations Chair for the Gender-Sexuality Alliance club and works as a Customer Associate. She is an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, the BLM movement, women's rights, reproductive healthcare, and other vital causes. Sarah is passionate about contributing to the future of developing young minds and trying to make the world a better place than it was yesterday. For now, she is excited to have become such an active member of her community and continues to find new ways to be involved. Sarah also hopes to light the path and serve as a role model for young LGBTQ+ people and those who have struggled/are struggling with mental illness. After graduating in June 2024, she hopes to transfer to UCI to pursue a B.A. in Educational Sciences. She hopes to become a high school art/drama teacher and create a new wave of acceptance and kindness everywhere she goes.
