Sarah Young is Assistant Professor and BSW Program Director in the Department of Social Work at Binghamton University where she teaches courses on community and organizational practice. She is an alum of the Point Flagship Scholarship (2011-2016), earning her PhD from The University of Alabama in 2016 and remaining an active volunteer with Point ever since. She has served on the Scholar Selections Sub-Committee (2016-Present), served as the Scholar Sub-Committee Co-Chair (2014-2015), and has served as a mentor to a Point alum (2018-2021). She has lived and practiced social work in London, England, Mississippi, Alabama, and New York. She is thrilled to support Point’s effort to spotlight mentoring, as she herself was a beneficiary of her mentoring relationship while a Point Scholar.
