Shawn Luby received a BS in clinical laboratory science from the University of North Carolina's School of Medicine in 2006 with support from the Point Foundation. Shortly following his graduation, and the acceptance of a clinical laboratory science position with the Hemetology/Oncology department at UNC, Shawn found himself drawn once again to the world of music. Originally a classically trained guitarist from the age of four, Shawn now heads up the indie-americana band, Humble Tripe.
Point Foundation graciously connected Shawn with a life coach during this time of transition, which led Shawn to a rigorous national touring schedule and the release of his 2010 debut album, Counting Stars. Shawn has had the privilege of sharing the stage with legendary queer icons Amy Ray (Indigo Girls), Justin Bond (Short Bus, Kiki and Herb), and rising stars Chris Pureka, Athens Boys Choir and Katastrophe.
