Taylor Jones, a Texas native born in 2002 to two college students at the time, is now a junior at the University of Texas at Austin studying radio, television, and film. She grew up loving sports, excelling in school, and valuing family. She was an active member of her high school's marching band as a tuba player and the school's theater troupe, serving as president her senior year. Her passion for everything she did growing up didn't stop there; when she arrived at UT Austin, she rented a tuba to continue honing her craft, joined a theater organization and does shows every semester, plays on intramural sports teams year-round, and is involved with all things Black UT. She currently works four jobs, one of which is for Austin's local stagehand's union, where she has gained valuable experience. She plans to practice her skills at a union in Los Angeles, where she hopes to live someday while pursuing a career in the film industry. Taylor will work within the industry to highlight queer Black people's experiences and how they navigate life on Earth and in fantasy worlds, as she has.
