Tia Hunt (they/he/she) is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a sophomore. They are studying American Studies and are a second-year intern at the Southern Oral History Program. This year, he serves as the political action chair for Carolina Indian Circle and an executive member for UNC Students for Justice in Palestine. Additionally, she is a member of UNC Moonlight, a dance crew, the Community Justice, Abolition, and Antiracism collective, and the UNC Critical Ethnic Studies collective. Political education, intentional community building, and dance are a few of her interests, all of which provide a path for people to connect and unite around common passions and goals. Tia hopes to continue in academia and engage with their community to make substantial change.
