Yaya Ramirez is a disabled, nonbinary, queer, poor Latine from Chicago - representing Humboldt Park and Logan Square. yaya is strongly influenced by practices rooted in liberation, consent, play, and trauma-informed care. Coming from their own experiences and positionality, Yaya is currently pursuing a music education degree to work with Chicago Public Schools in their community. Yaya believes music has the capacity to heal, challenge, and strengthen individuals and communities. They hope to introduce music in an anti-oppressive manner to young people in their future classroom someday.
