Zach Steward is a junior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying African-American studies & legal studies. He is also a 4+1 master's student in public policy. The goal is to go into either law school, public policy, politics, or social work. Giving back to the community is important to him, which is why he wants to go into these fields. He's interested in learning more about how policies impact those on a local level, not just state or nationwide.
Additionally, he wants to increase his networking skills, meet people with similar interests, and see more people who look like him. This is because there aren't many spaces where those that look like him can be in one place while exchanging ideas. Policies that have an impact on minority communities are important to him, especially the ones with long-lasting impacts.
