Keep Pride Alive

This Pride happens during an onslaught of anti-LGBTQ legislation nationwide. So far in 2024, nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ bills have been proposed in state legislatures.

Now is the time to work together to fight off the attacks on LGBTQ people by promising to Vote Rainbow to protect LGBTQ rights.

Pride Today for a Better Tomorrow

In 2023, 20 states passed anti-LGBTQ legislation which targeted the rights of LGBTQ students. Schools are now grappling with laws that:

  • Prohibit transgender and nonbinary or other gender-diverse students from joining sports teams.
  • Require staff at schools to deadname and use the wrong pronouns for students.
  • Prohibit students from using bathrooms that align with their gender identities.
  • Allow parents to remove any materials they deem inappropriate from classrooms or schools.
  • Forbid staff and administrators from addressing sexuality or gender in schools. Require staff and administrators to out their students’ sexuality.
  • Protect all free speech on campus, including anti-LGBTQ hate speech.
  • Remove funding for diversity, equity, and inclusion programming- which commonly supports LGBTQ students.

Your Vote Matters

It is a crucial year to vote for LGBTQ-inclusive policies and make other people aware of the importance of committing to vote rainbow.

As we stand on the cusp of the 2024 elections and legislative sessions, the US already faces more proposed anti-LGBTQ legislation than in 2023. This ongoing attack underscores the urgency of understanding these proposals, as they may shape the national and state political landscapes.
