Point Foundation acknowledges the importance of protecting the privacy of all visitors to the Point Foundation website and all scholarship applicants. The information we collect is used to improve the services we offer, to improve our website’s content, security, and user experience, and, with your permission, to contact you with updates to our website or other scholarship and donor information. However, Point Foundation will not distribute, share, sell or rent any information or data obtained on this site or Point Foundation online application website with any other company or marketing group external to Point Foundation’s activities. Nor will Point Foundation distribute, share, sell or rent any information that may be obtained by mail as it relates to the application process for potential Point Scholars with any other company or marketing group external to Point Foundation’s activities.
Point Foundation may provide aggregate statistics about Point Foundation website users, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-parties for potential fundraising efforts. Such statistical information will not include personally identifying information, with the exception of personal information of actual Point Scholars (who have been awarded scholarships) whereby permission has been granted by such Point Scholars.

Point Foundation will not share or sell a scholar’s personal information with any other company or marketing group external to Point Foundation’s activities without explicit consent by the scholar.
Electronic Communications and SMS Marketing Terms of Service
When you engage with us via the Sites or Services, send emails to us, or otherwise communicate with us via electronic means, you consent to receive communications from us electronically. We will communicate with you by email or by posting notices on our website, through SMS or MMS messages, or through notifications on any mobile and web applications. You acknowledge that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
Your use of some features of our Services may include our communicating with you via SMS or other text messages mechanisms (“Messages”). Your participation in these features, including by entering your phone number into the Services, constitutes your prior express written consent to receive Messages from us, either directly or through our service providers, or from our customers and business partners; provided, however, that we are not responsible and carry no liability for text messages, emails, or other electronic notifications sent directly by our customers to you.
You certify, warrant, and represent that the telephone number(s) that you provide to us are your contact numbers and that you are permitted to receive calls or Messages at such telephone numbers. You shall promptly alert us whenever you stop using a particular telephone number. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your consent includes your express consent for us to send you promotional, marketing, informational, and administrative Messages. You can unsubscribe from further Messages by replying STOP. Further, you acknowledge that your mobile carrier's standard charges and data rates may apply received by you.

The Point Foundation web server uses an extended log file format which captures: date and time of visit, referred address (location from which a visitor comes to (pointfoundation.org) type of Internet browser, and visitor’s IP address. (Each computer that connects to the Internet is assigned a unique number, an IP Address, for identification purposes). The log file does not capture a visitor’s email address.
Additionally, when you make a contribution to Point online, your financial information is transmitted using Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS is a proven coding system that lets your browser encrypt, or scramble, data before being sent to our payment processor.
Is personal information requested and how is the information used?
There are currently two areas which ask for personal information. 1) Online application – This information is intended for the use of only the Point Foundation in the process of evaluating applications for potential scholarships to be awarded by Point Foundation. None of the information collected, either electronically or by mail, is shared with organizations external to Point Foundation. 2) Donor Records – Once a donation is made, in order to properly recognize donors and prepare the donor tax letters, the donor’s name, address, phone number and email address are added to Point’s donor record software. Point Foundation does not keep the donor’s credit card information on file.
