As a Point Community College Scholarship Recipient, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?

Beyond the knowledge presented to one in classes, a college experience revolves around eager learners; you will meet supportive organizations like Point Foundation with a wealth of alum, mentors, staff, and professors. You will meet those who hold views subject to change within the four years. As for learning as an out black gay man and student — education continuously exposes and challenges me to improve my understanding of the world around me and learn from my peers and professors. This is a life-changing and unique experience. The skills gained will intellectually make one think differently on approaching world problems, inequalities and provide solutions to social issues as resources at my disposal for accessing information are immense. College helps one aspire to understand other people and life, to build relations, and learn how to interact with others to make one more likable and professional.
