Thank you for joining us at Taste of Point DC 2024!

We are thrilled to have been able to celebrate the DC LGBTQ community at Taste of Point DC with you! By supporting Point Foundation, you are investing in a future that accepts, amplifies, and celebrates LGBTQ voices.

With thousands of applicants and only a few hundred scholarships available, we depend on our donors to secure the support our scholars need. Please renew your commitment to LGBTQ college students and their dreams by donating today. A one-time gift will help Point say “YES” to as many applicants as possible, ensuring our 2024-25 scholar class is our largest ever.

Please renew your commitment to LGBTQ college students and their dreams by donating today. A one-time gift will help Point say “YES” to as many applicants as possible, ensuring our 2024-25 scholar class is our largest ever.

Here’s how a gift at every level can be life-changing:

  • $1000 – can help cover textbooks for an Undergraduate Point Scholar for the 2024-2025 academic year. With your help, students can purchase the e-book version of their required texts, which often include study guides and practice exams.

  • $500 – can help purchase a monthly WMATA card for the semester for local LGBTQ students. While many DC universities participate in the U-Pass program, Howard and University of Maryland students must pay $64 per month for their metro cards.

  • $250 – can help pay off outstanding Student Activities Fees for an LGBTQ college student who cannot register for the fall semester. Mandatory fees often do not factor into a student’s budgeting for the semester, resulting in an inability to register for classes or graduate on time.

  • $100 – can help provide utilities for the month. Did you know it is often less expensive for a student to live off campus than to stay in the residence halls? Point Scholarships can be used to pay for electricity, Wi-Fi, and heat—all necessary utilities for an LGBTQ college student to succeed.

  • $50 – can help cover the cost of a Point Scholar’s attendance at this evening’s event. Networking events like Taste of Point DC can be life changing. Last year, Point BIPOC Scholar Omari Foote met with Stephen Rutgers of the Washington Blade, who told her about their fellowship positions. Omari applied and was selected for the fellowship!

Want to further your impact? Consider making tonight’s donation a monthly gift and joining The Dean’s List at Point! Simply click the “monthly” option on the form to the right.

Thank you for supporting LGBTQ college students!
