Why did you choose your major or program?

I chose Business since it is applicable to a wide range of areas. There are numerous career options. Along this journey, I will have the opportunity to meet and work with a diverse group of people from various backgrounds.

What is a fun fact about you that few people know?

I never say no to anything. I also like to do accents.

What is your favorite song and why?

True Colors by Cindy Lauper is my favorite song. This song helps me feel confident in my own skin. we live in a world full of hateful people, but you can thrive if you don't let them bring you down. so I never let anyone tell me anything different.

What is your current favorite streaming binge and why?

Right now, I'm watching The Handmaid's Tale on Hulu. This show appeals to me because it emphasizes the need of working together to effect change. There are numerous women with different tales, but one thing they all have in common is a lack of freedom. Countless voices remain unheard because they are imprisoned by men. Change has never been easy.

What is your favorite hobby or activity you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy writing in my spare time because it gives me the feeling that I can put all of my thoughts on one piece of paper. Podcasts are also something I enjoy listening to.

How have your identities (race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender) affected your college experience?

I can't say that I've ever been in this circumstance in my first year of college. All I can say is that everyone I've met at college has been wonderful to me. I'm hoping for more of the same in the coming years.

How do you practice self-care?

I take long walks. Not only do I work out my body, but I also work out my mind. Classic music is my go-to therapy because it relaxes me.

How are you adjusting to the "new normal" as we're emerging from this pandemic? Do you have any tips for other students who are going back to college this semester?

I am very excited to start classes and meet a lot of new people in college and also very worried about our situation right now, but it is what it is, and we have to face it together and take the necessary precautions for a better future You want to focus on what you really want and not get distracted by things that will affect you. I am looking forward to finding out what I want from life? What are my goals? How will I achieve those goals?

As a Point BIPOC Scholar, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ BIPOC students?

I won't stop fighting for justice for every single person. You have the freedom to be yourself and do whatever you desire. Make yourself happy by being who you are to the fullest extent possible. Everyone in this country and around the world deserves that same respect and honor to be able to do what they love, love who they love, and marry who they love. We shouldn't be scared walking down the street, we shouldn't be scared of this violence against us. We are all such incredible unique individuals.
