How to Access Free Counseling

Current and new students at Point Foundation can access mental health counselors by following the steps below.

1. Go to Point Connect

Login or create a new account with Point Connect to access the code for professional, cost-free help from BetterHelp and Pride Counseling. While Point Connect is a resource for scholars and alumni, only current Point students may access this service.

2. Visit BetterHelp or Pride Counseling

Decide whether you prefer to work with BetterHelp or Pride counselors, then visit either of their websites, using the Point Foundation code to get started. 

3. Complete the Questionnaire

To get matched up with a counselor who meets your needs, complete a questionnaire online on either the Pride Counseling or BetterHelp websites.

4. Begin Counseling

BetterHelp or Pride Counseling will match you with a counselor based on your survey information. Get know your counselor, then, if it is a good match, set up appointments that work for you.

What to Expect

  • Chat with therapists live on your phone or on video.
  • Change therapists or cancel at any time.
  • All communications with BetterHelp or your therapist are discreet and will not affect your scholarship standing with Point.
  • Therapists are certified and experienced.
  • Renew your service after three months if you continue to be a Point Scholar.

Choose BetterHelp or Pride 

You may choose from the 25,000 counselors at BetterHelp or from the LGBTQ-specific counselors at Pride Counseling. On either platform, you will be matched with a counselor who meets your expressed needs and goals. You have the option to select a different counselor at any time.
