Which program are you pursuing and what about the subject intrigues you most?
Diplomacy & World Affairs
What are your education and career aspirations?
To be a public figure using my platform for social change.
What is a fun fact about you that few people know?
I have pet tree frogs!
What is your favorite book/movie/song and why?
My favorite movie is "Arrival" (2016) because it makes you think about the answers to life's existential questions.
What is your current favorite streaming binge and why?
Right now I am binge watching "Madam Secretary" because it captures both the reality of a political life and also you fully witness the interpersonal creation of relationships. You really get the best of both worlds!
In your spare time, what do you enjoy doing?
In my spare time, I enjoy taking a relaxing pause or taking care of my many pets.
How are you practicing self-care during this difficult time?
Self-care to me during the pandemic has revolved around taking time for me. With the added time to my day from not having to drive anywhere, I could have easily filled it with other obligations but I have been for the most part disciplined in finding much-needed balance.
How are you adjusting to remote life and what are your tips to stay motivated?
Remote life is actually pretty easy for me. It has allowed me to cut back on travel time and commit to things that would otherwise conflict. The one thing I would definitely say is find the balance, it's easy for the lines to blur at home between school-work-self but it's this that is essential to ensuring you stay motivated rather than burning out
As a Point Community College Scholarship Recipient, what is your message to other LGBTQ+ students?
Lean on community! We are all going through something and for the first time in a long time, almost everyone is facing the same thing. Try to find common ground and compassion while gaining support through the community. Times like these, we really need each other.
